Disappointing U17s Defeat

Whaley Bridge Under 17s got off to bad start with defeat at Inter Cheadle Under 17s.

The home side started brightly, but it was Whaley who made the breakthrough when Zain Saeed hit a speculative shot from the left as the home side appealed for offside. It did not take long for Inter Cheadle to draw level, and that was how it remained until half time. Whaley made several changes in an attempt to inject some life into a rather flat performance, but the long grass and the unseasonal sunshine seemed to take its toll. Cheadle made the most of uncertainty in the Whaley box to make it 2-1, and despite several long range shots from Saeed, and a piledriver from Nathan Wild, they held on for the victory.
