Signol Swamped

After changing pitches and eventually changing venues, Whaley Bridge made the most of their visit to Signol Athletic with a comfortable victory. Whaley started brightly, but in a scrappy game there were few clear cut chances. Whaley broke the deadlock as Bruce Glover burst into the box, picked out Jack Howell, and the striker slotted home. At the other end there were a few panics from set pieces, with Ole Madden producing a couple of goal saving headers. Alfie Hodges added some bite into the midfield, but Whaley's dominance went unrewarded until after the break. Jake Young looked confident and his through ball found Howell who doubled Whaley's lead. Hammad Chaudhry caused chaos down the right, but missed a golden chance to seal the three points. That was left to Ethan Williams who showed an impressive turn of pace. He played a one two with Howell, jinked inside, then found the corner. The 3-0 scoreline was well deserved, but Whaley will need to up their game for the challenges ahead.
