7 games in and Whaley U12's are settling into their second season of 11 a side football in the Stockport Metro League 2nd Division.

With 2 strong teams joining from the 1st Division and 2 promoted sides, including Chapel Town Jnrs, all the signs are that the Division will be a stronger challenge than the previous season.

Whaley U12's have moved on though ! and alongside the pass and move game that we have worked hard to embed in the squad, we now have significant signs of a competitive edge through the lads asserting themselves on the pitch and in the tackle. The hard work that we have put in on the training ground in challenging for the ball, using physical strength and balance in the tackle and reacting quickly to loose ball is paying off in the games on Sunday.

The boys continue to enjoy their football very much, as a squad (somewhat "thin" at times !) and are working together as a team very well. they challenge in the air, get the ball down and pass it around, ably demonstrated in the last quarter against Stockport Vikings (won 5-2) and they work hard together to earn results, Macclesfield Junior FC (won 1-0).

this seasons motto " never ever give up" being made a reality through a combination of all taking part in a regular warm up / fitness session in training and a fast developing overall work rate, full involvement in training and in effort as a team.
